'McCallum Silk Hosiery' jar circa 1930-70

A beautiful art deco style  McCallum Silk Hosiery Co. jar. It is made of white/milk glass and has a timber lid (with a thin rubber seal).

Beautiful advertisement illustrations was done by M. C. Woodbury during 1920-1922 with the slogan 'You just know she wears them.'  The above is an example of one of those illustrations.

I was unable to find any information of  when this bottle was manufactured but I gathered it was prior to 1980. It was possibly used to hold bath salts?

Dimensions: height with lid:  22cm     diameter: 9cm

Alexander McCallum, a Canadian of Scottish decent opened a department store in 1871 in Northampton, Massechuttes. Goods such as cosmetics, clothing, furniture and household appliances where sold.  In 1898 he built a manufacturing plant and established the McCallum Hosiery Co.  His son George Bliss McCallum, a graduate of Yale joined his father in the businesses.  In 1893 the McCallum Hosiery Co. won a medal 'for superiority in silk hosiery' at the World Fair held in Chicago. The department store closed its doors in 1973 and the factory possibly a little later?
